"It's a three-peat!"

On Sunday night, Miss New York Kira Kazantsev took the crown back to the Empire State, making her win historic for the Miss America organization. There has never been a state that has won three years in a row.

Kira wowed the judges with her intellect and a fun performance with a red solo cup. Social media was buzzing about her decision to sing Pharrel Williams' "Happy" while sitting cross-legged on the stage and banging a red plastic cup on the floor.

Kira said she was inspired by the 2012 movie "Pitch Perfect" and explains the reason why she chose to do that talent, "I wanted every single little girl in America to be able to see that you can do that talent - you can do whatever talent you want on national television - even with a red cup - and still be Miss America and have the time of your life.

Kira continues, "I literally in that minute and 30 seconds had the most fun I've ever had, and that's because I stayed true to myself and I did what I wanted to do for my talent, no matter what everybody else told me, and it paid off. I'm very happy about it."

We fell in love with Kira and her beautiful smile, so let's get to know our Miss America 2015 a little better...

1. She's exceptionally smart.

The 23-year-old triple majored at Hofstra University, earning herself a degree in political science, global studies, and geography. Her goal is “to obtain a Juris Doctorate and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.” She's already been accepted by Fordham University's Law School.

2. She speaks 3 languages.

Daughter of Russian immigrants, Kira is fluent in Russian, Spanish, and English.

3. Her platform is domestic violence.

A survivor of abuse herself, Kira recently spoke out in support of Janay Rice for marrying former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice after he punched her out in an Atlantic City casino elevator.

“I want people to stop asking, ‘Why doesn’t she just leave?’” she told NPR. “Every woman is an expert in her own case, and there are so many extenuating circumstances that lead to a woman staying with her abuser.”

4. Geneva Seal's favorite topic: Kira's Miss America Crown.

The Miss America Crown is made of 741 Austrian crystals in many shapes and sizes. It's famed four points stand for service, style, scholarship and success, according to Bonnie MacIsaac of the Miss America Organization. We're happy for Kira and excited to follow her journey with the crown.
