What Dating Will Be like in 10 Years. This Is Crazy.

Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces, a Chicago luxury engagement ring and timepiece boutique likes to stay ahead of the trends when it comes to wristwear. So when we heard a watch is expected to be your personal matchmaker in 10 years, we were all ears.

From the editors of Cosmopolitan.com, futurists (people who study the future) filled us in on what the Bumble/Tinder of 2025 will be like & it's bad news for creeps.

Picture this: An app on your watch tracking your location, making it easier for you to bump into potential matches in real life on the fly.

Right now, it's insanely easy to meet someone. The problem is that nothing can guarantee they're actually someone worth meeting. By 2025. you'll be able to know more about your blind date before you even step foot in that restaurant, anxiously searching for the guy from the photos.

A quick check of your watch could let you know who's a creep and who's looking for a one-night stand, or a serious girlfriend, or a wife and four kids. If this decade is all about dating quantity, the next one will be all about dating quality.

Social futurist and writer Sara Robinson says it'll be like having your overbearing grandmother over your shoulder at all times. "See that guy over there?" she says, spinning a potential example. "He's single, drinks Scotch, and loves dogs. You should go talk to him.' And, at the same time, his watch is nudging him: 'See that woman? You like redheads, right? And she's a backpacker too. You might like her.'"

Christian Crews, a founding member of the Association of Professional Futurists, points out that meeting people will be a lot easier if you know which people are good potential matches for you:

"Imagine how the world could change if everybody was wearing their own personal matchmaker, who was constantly searching the crowd on their behalf."

But it's not just the real-world meeting places that will have more potential for finding love. Online communities that aren't meant for dating will become spots to meet singles. Don't be surprised if you start hearing, "This is my husband. We met on Yelp." And you probably won't even think anything of it. "As more of our lives are spent online and in virtual communities, we will find relationships there just as we have at the gym, the bar, or hobbies where we meet people now," says Crews.

"Generations that have grown up online make fewer distinctions between 'real-world' and virtual relationships."

Just like non-dating sites will be used for finding lovers, dating apps will be used for finding friends. Bumble just released Bumble BFF -- which is focused on building strong relationships with other kick-ass women.

It makes sense. After hours of fruitless swiping, it's tempting to head over to the same-sex section and just look for a fun-looking friend who likes Tito's and Sprite, and wants to see the new Fast and Furious movie with you later so you don't have to sniffle over Paul Walker alone. This is our future.

Hublot Big Bang Pop Art Collection

"A timepiece that brings the avant-garde spirit of the Pop Art movement to life"

THE ART OF FUSION GETS A SPLASH OF COLOR WITH THE BIG BANG POP ART

Bright, bold and strikingly colorful. Inspired by the Pop Art movement of the 1950 and to a greater extent the 60s, the Big Bang Pop Art collection is a horological canvas for artistic expression. A veritable fusion between the worlds of watchmaking and modern art, it is the very notion of challenging the conventional that Hublot related to in Pop Art.

Much like how Andy Warhol took American popular culture and reinterpreted them into vividly colored paintings, the Pop Art reinterprets Hublot’s signature Big Bang into the most prismatic ladies’ line to date; watches that are as much mechanical marvels as they are pieces of wearable art.

The Big Bang Pop Art come in either steel or, something of a rarity for Hublot, yellow gold cases that capture the retro spirit of the Pop Art movement. Accentuating the playful colors of the dial, the bezels are skillfully set with baguette cut precious and semi-precious stones, including blue topaz, purple amethyst, pink sapphire and green tsavorite.

CAPTURING THE STROKE OF A PAINTBRUSH

Against a rich blue background, the chronograph registers and indexes are truly one-of-a-kind, painted in two contrasting colors. Around the register and markers one is given the impression of paintbrush strokes with paint matching the chronograph registers. The date wheel blends in perfectly with its matching blue tone.

The strap is just as brightly colorful as the rest of the watch, done in alligator leather with a contrasting colored rubber backing for added comfort, flexibility and durability.

Hublot continues to explore the realm of Pop Art and modern art in general, as can be witnessed from the collaboration with Brazilian artist Romero Britto’s Pop Art-inspired football design for the for FIFA 2014 World Cup, as well as promoting young emerging modern artists such as Gao Ludi in China and Hebru Brantley in the USA.

Bovet Watches | Récital 11 "Miss Alexandra"

bovet-watches-chicago

Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces, a Chicago watch and engagement ring boutique is the only Authorized Dealer for Bovet watches in Illinois. The Bovet Récital 11 “Miss Alexandra” features the same precision phase of the moon and characteristic hands of the Récital 9 Tourbillon. The hour and minute hands are offset at 6 o’clock.

Their atypical silhouettes, forming a heart every hour, stand out clearly against the guilloché surface of the finely-worked mother-of-pearl dial crafted by artisans of the Dimier 1738 Dial Manufacture.

With its assurance of proven reliability and chronometric precision, the self-winding movement of this new timepiece guarantees a power-reserve of 72 hours, or three days. A comfortable margin, since it allows the timepiece to be taken off for an entire weekend and put back on without the need for any adjustments.

The precision moon phase module was entirely developed and manufactured by artisans of DIMIER 1738. More complex than a traditional indicator, this precision complication requires only a single one-day correction every 122 years. Its display method was also revised. Rather than showing two moons on a moving disc, here the moon is rigidly attached to the dial. The system features a disc engraved according to an exact cartography of the lunar surface.

Hollow parts have been filled with luminous material. As a result, the moon appears exactly as it can be observed in the sky and therefore seems to directly reflect the sun’s light. The sky through which the earth’s satellite moves has been chased and black treated.

The Manufacture’s engravers then reworked this sky so that bright points appeared, reminiscent of stars. Two circular pallets moving above this assembly are decorated with the same motif as the sky. Reading the phase of the moon is therefore both intuitive and realistic.

A Women's Piece Designed by Breitling Watches at Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces

Breitling

Breitling treats feminine wrists to a new model from its Galactic line featuring a slimmer case, tungsten carbide bezel and a chronometer-certified SuperQuartz™ movement. A true champion marrying style with performance.

The ultra-sporty, elegant and sophisticated Galactic holds a place of its own within the Breitling universe. It is intended for those who don’t necessarily require chronograph functions but are still keen on having a watch capable of sharing every moment of a dynamic lifestyle, and particularly for women of action.

The slimmer case features an extremely ergonomic profile. It is topped by a brand-new smooth bezel in tungsten carbide, an ultra-resistant high-tech composite material whose original shade creates a subtle contrast with polished steel. Tungsten carbide is made from a tungsten powder molded at high temperature and under extreme pressure. This results in incomparable hardness almost five times greater than that of steel, as well as a scratch-proof surface.

The dials come in black-lacquered or mother-of-pearl, with or without diamond hour-markers. The steel bracelet comprising five rows of links boasts a sturdy and comfortable construction. This model is also available with a diamond-set steel bezel. In addition, the Galactic 36 SleekT retains the sporting qualities that have forged the collection’s success, including water resistance to 100 m (330 ft), a shock-resistant case, a sapphire crystal glareproofed on both sides and an extremely legible dial with luminescent hands and large hour-markers.

The officially chronometer-certified SuperQuartzTM movement displays a level of precision ten times higher than standard quartz. The ultimate sports model for women.

Our Favorite Celebrity Engagement Rings | Geneva Seal | Chicago

Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces, a Chicago engagement ring house, has been discussing celebrity engagement rings from Scarlett Johansson's vintage Art Deco style to Girls actress Allison Williams' classy conventional solitaire cut engagement ring.

While many stars choose over-the-top engagement rings, it's nice to see Mila Kunis rock a simple band with a round diamond. No baguettes. No insets. It's not ostentatious and she doesn't need a security team with her to wear it. It's a lot like her and Ashton Kutcher

Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara became engaged in December 2014 and her stunning oval-cut engagement ring takes our breath away. George Clooney presented Amal Clooney with a seven-carat-emerald-cut diamond engagement ring formed in a platinum setting.

Olivia Wilde and Halle Berry have two of the most original engagement rings we've seen. Olivia's fiance, Jason Sedukis chose to surround this circle diamond with a halo of emeralds to match Wilde's eyes (swoon). Halle Berry's three-stone ring setting is definitely glamorous and allows her unique personality to shine through with different combinations of diamonds and gemstones. The emerald in an emerald cut engagement ring is absolutely stunning.

Kanye West proposed to Kim Kardashian with a 15-carat diamond engagement ring at San Francisco's AT&T Park.

Matthew McConaughey picked out a vintage-style engagement ring - and wedding bands for the exceptionally gorgeous Camila Alves.

Just like relationships, each engagement ring has it's own unique identity so when you walk down the aisle, make sure you visit us at Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces in Chicago to pick a ring that mirrors the love you feel for one another.

Breitling Jet Team Getting Ready to Wow Chicago Air & Water Show Crowds

Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces, a Chicago engagement ring and watch house is proud to welcome the Breitling Jet Team for their first flight at our annual Chicago Air & Water Show.

New to the air show this year,  the Breitling Jet Team came to us from France. They put their Czech-made Aero L-39c Albatros jets in shipping containers to bring them to the U.S. for their first American tour.

According to CBS Chicago, team leader Jacques Bothelin said,

“We try to choreograph the scenes in a specific European manner. It’s a little different from what you have seen with the American teams. We also use a lot of music, and try to give positive emotion to the spectators. We just want to give them a good time by the elegance (and) grace of the maneuvers,” he said.

Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces in Chicago is an Authorized Dealer for Breitling Watches in Chicago.

4 Carat Cushion Cut Diamond Engagement Ring

Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces, a Chicago engagement ring house specializes in picking out the perfect engagement ring for your loved one. Cushion cut diamonds in the 4 carat range are a stunning choice for engagement rings. Often, clients who want to maximize sparkle will choose a higher quality cut, to balance the large carat size.

Four carat diamonds also work exceptionally well in custom jewelry, such as stud earrings and solitaire pendants. Geneva Seal diamonds are certified by either the AGS or GIA - the most respected independent grading labs in the world.

Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert Divorcing -- Last Look at Her Engagement Ring

blake-shelton-miranda-lambert

One of country music's cutest couples has called it quits.

Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert are divorcing after 4 years of marriage. The singers announced their divorce via a statement to the Associated Press Monday.

"This is not the future we envisioned," the former couple announced in a joint statement. "And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."

Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces in Chicago wants to give you one last look at the engagement ring Blake gave Miranda in 2010 when he proposed: he picked a platinum and diamond engagement ring with a round center stone and two baguettes.

blake-shelton-miranda-lambert

Blake helped design a classic and elegant ring for his bride. Before making the ring, they sketched Miranda’s tattoo and then spent about 60 hours to make and carve out part of the ring. Miranda wanted something beautiful in the engagement ring accordance with the theme of her marriage and also a ring that can create a brilliant sparkle.

So they made a ring named “Eternity”, made of platinum and a round gorgeous diamond set with ornate platinum prongs in the middle. Unfortunately even with a name like "Eternity" some marriages aren't meant to last.

Geneva Seal in Chicago Welcomes Ulysse Nardin's Extraordinary Timepieces to Our Home

Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces in Chicago is proud to welcome Ulysse Nardin's elegant timepieces to our home.

It’s quite easy to spot an Ulysse Nardin on the wrist, especially if we’re talking about the Marine or El Toro collections. However, in this post we’re going take it up a notch and have a look at their most exceptional timepieces. Starting with the new model in the ‘Freak’ collection.

Today the Freak is one of the already classic and iconic timepieces, so it’s no wonder that Ulysse Nardin wants to continue the legacy with a new model in the range. This year they’re unveiling the FreakLab, with a tourbillon and a date indicator. The big challenge here was to stay true to the tradition and keep the watch ‘hands-free’, meaning that the wearer would adjust the date as he adjusts time – using the bezel. The solution was surely hard to work out, yet now looks so simple and effortless – when turning the bezel you would just need change the direction of the rotation and then pull it back! Now apart from its functionality the look of this model is quite exceptional too – the white gold case matches the grey/black dial and croc strap, and the absence of a crown makes the 45mm case diameter look more elegant than you’d expect. The new FreakLab will have a power reserve of 8 days and will have a price tag south of 100k CHF.

Apart from the Freak there’s another collection we love, and that’s Ulysse Nardin’s exceptional minute repeater/tourbillons. This one here displays the Carthaginian military commander Hannibal Barca, a man considered to be one of the most iconic military leaders of all time. He’s had many battles but the quest he’s known for the most is the march across the Pyrenees and Alps with an army of horsemen and elephants that lead to his victory in Italy. Ulysse Nardin ‘Hannibal’ minute repeater shows the legend himself on the horse and a battle elephant right beside him. The whole set up gets animated as soon as the minute repeater function is activated. The case is made of Platinum and also features a beautiful one-minute tourbillon at 6 o’clock.

ulysse-nardin-chicago

Now, another novelty apart from the FreakLab is the Anchor Tourbillon, a complete opposite of what we would usually expect from Ulysse Nardin’s high end collection. This one speaks to a whole new audience and shows the ‘softer’ and more classy side of the brand. The beautiful Grand Feu enamel white dial and those traditional-looking hands and numerals bring up the elegance of the timepiece, while the constant Ulysse Anchor escapement, the tourbillon and the 8 day power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock show its complexity. This Anchor Tourbillon will be available in white or rose gold, each version limited to 18 numbered pieces, and what’s even more interesting is the price of just over CHF 80’000 for such a sophisticated and complicated watch.

Lord Stanley Is En Route to Chicago: X-Rayed at Airport

Tonight, Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces in Chicago will be cheering for our favorite boys, The Chicago Blackhawks! The excitement this team has spread around our city is contagious, even the rainy summer days can't bring us down... It's on Tampa Bay. It's ON.

If the Chicago Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup on home ice, it will be the first time since 1938! But first, even the Lord has to pass through airport security. As posted on Twitter by Philip Pritchard — the Stanley Cup's guardian —  hockey's ultimate prize went through the X-ray machine just before taking flight to Chicago.

The Stanley Cup goes through the X-ray process before taking flight to Chicago.

Sunrise Ruby Sold for a World Record Record of $30.3 Million & It Has Pigeon's Blood?

They say diamonds are forever, but you can't deny the seductive nature of a Rubie.

The Sunrise Ruby sold for a world auction record of $30.3 million last week. Set with diamonds, the extremely rare 25.59 carats piece has a “pigeon’s blood” hue with the Swiss Gemological Institute describing it as a “unique treasure of nature”, according to Sotheby’s. No, not real pigeon's blood, pigeon's blood is the trade term for a ruby with what the industry considers the deepest red with the most saturation

“In over 40 years, I cannot recall ever having seen another Burmese ruby of this exceptional size possessing such outstanding colour,” said David Bennett, the worldwide chairman of Sotheby’s international jewellery division.

#TBT: Mother's Day Love: Meet the Geneva Seal Family Part II

"All that I am or hope to be, I owe to my mother." Abraham Lincoln

Mother's Day is extra special at Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces in Chicago. Being a family-owned business, family is first, second and third. We wanted to honor the amazing women who created the Geneva Seal family by introducing them to our digital family.

From our family to yours, here's a little motherly love we're happy to share with you.

Alex Kats has a vivacious mother who comes to the boutique quite often. Alex's parents don't live in Illinois, but whenever they're in town, his mother Rachel comes to Geneva Seal to work. Rachel used to organize and set the business in the right direction a long time ago, but when she's in town, you best believe she continues where she left off. She comes in at 9am and doesn't leave until the end of the day.

Much like his mother, Alex has a work ethic you don't see in most people. He doesn't take a day off and will stand for most of the day, giving Geneva Seal his 110% on a daily basis. I was talking to Michael, our Geneva Seal jeweler yesterday and he told me that Alex's leadership changed him from being a salesperson to a friend. Alex's clients always brag about his honesty and laid back approach and we definitely believe in thanking his mother for those sincere compliments. Happy Mother's Day Rachel. We hope to see you soon.

Igor's mother Larisa in no way looks like a mother of two grown adults, let alone a grandmother to three teenagers. Larisa is Alex's mother-in-law, making Igor his brother-in-law. They are closer than most brothers and their family bond is unbreakable.

I met Larisa at the Geneva Seal holiday dinner. Her and her stunning daughter, Alex's wife Irene laid out the most amazing and tasteful spread you could imagine. I could tell that these two ladies were the bond that holds this family together. Irene raises two teenage girls, a husband, and works full-time as an optometrist. I'm not sure how she finds the time to manage her schedule, but she makes it look effortless.

There's strength in motherhood no one but a mother could understand, which reminds me of the story Alex told us about Irene. Two days after his wife gave birth to their beautiful daughter, she was back at school to take the test which determined her becoming a doctor. Strength like that is rare and once again, the only woman to thank for acquiring such strength is her mother Larisa.

Mother's Day Love: Meet the Geneva Seal Family

"All that I am or hope to be, I owe to my mother." Abraham Lincoln

Mother's Day is extra special at Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces in Chicago. Being a family-owned business, family is first, second and third. We wanted to honor the amazing women who created the Geneva Seal family by introducing them to our digital family.

From our family to yours, here's a little motherly love we're happy to share with you.

Everyday is Mother's Day with these two. Leonard, the Geneva Seal jeweler and his mother Svetlana have the strongest son-mother relationship I have ever seen. Leonard and Svetlana (Lana for short) are not only a family, but a team. Together they overcame tremendous obstacles, coming to America and not speaking a word of English, to a success that was propelled by hard work and unconditional love.

Lana adores Leonard and everything she does is for him. The same is true of Leonard, Lana is the leading lady in his life and treating her like a Queen is an understatement. They take long walks together, enjoy fabulous meals, warm conversations and have a connection that could be felt from afar. These two aren't just son and mother, they are truly best friends.

Rachel, our Geneva Seal jeweler, has one of the sweetest relationships with her mom. Her mother Paula lives in the suburbs, but the two of them never miss their mother-daughter day every Monday. They shop, lunch and catch up with one another. Even though Rachel chats with her mom on a daily basis, she can't get enough of her best friend.

Paula is so sweet and has truly created a remarkable daughter. The love Rachel has for her mother is admirable. She created Rachel Lynn Chicago in 2009, inspired by her mother, a jeweler herself for over fifteen years. Rachel's bracelets are hand crafted to perfection. We love this mother-daughter friendship and believe a love like theirs is what Mother's Day is all about.

Mayweather May Be Hated by Many, but Our Watch Brand Hublot Chose the WBC Champion of the World

Still unbeaten, Hublot ambassador Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. beat Manny Pacquiao Saturday night, in what was dubbed the "Fight of the Century". Wearing black and gold Hublot boxing trunks, Mayweather was named the WBC CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!

Geneva Seal Fine Jewelry & Timepieces in Chicago is the only Authorized Dealer in Illinois for luxury watch brand Hublot, who presented the undefeated 10-Time World Champion with a unique King Power WBC Full Pavé with Emeralds to mark the occasion.

Mayweather also wore the Hublot brand name on his boxing trunks – something he has never done previously. “Everyone knows I am a big fan of luxury watches and Hublot is one of them,” said Mayweather minutes before the highly anticipated weight-in. “I am extremely grateful for their support and I look forward to adding the King Power WBC Full Pavé with Emeralds to my collection.”

Say what you will about "Money" Mayweather's arrogant attitude and honesty when it comes to glamorizing money but he was money once again in the richest fight ever.

According to the Associated Press, "Pacquiao did what he wanted to do, chasing Mayweather around the ring most of the fight. But he was never able to land a sustained volume of punches, often looking frustrated as Mayweather worked his defensive wizardry once again."

Mayweather used his reach and his jab to frustrate Manny Pacquiao, piling up enough points to win by unanimous decision and remained unbeaten in 48 fights with a win that cemented his legacy as the best of his generation.
