At the center of this composition as technical as it is aesthetically pleasing lies several architectural inspirations. The three eccentric and mobile rings turn counter-clockwise. The trefoil (“Trilobe” in French), which gives the brand its name, an ornamental motif with three arms, is a timeless and universal architectural symbol and echoes the three units of time: hours, minutes, and seconds. In the first collection Les Matinaux, Another architectural element featured is the “rosace”. Originally featured on the Sainte-Chapelle, a Parisian church built at the turn of the 14th century. A radiant symbol in architecture, this rosace welcomes light into the heart of the watch. As for the second collection Nuit Fantastique, launched in 2021, it is the deconstructrivist architecture that inspired the creation.

The Trilobe watches are currently available in two collections, in steel and rose gold cases measuring 38.5 and 40.5 mm. The “Les Matinaux” collection, inspired by French poet René Char’s eponymous poetry collection, is available in several dial color combinations The second Nuit Fantastique collection, launched in 2021 and inspired by the eponymous novel of Stephan Zweig, is as colored as her big sister, a concentrate of elegance: on a grained stamped dial, the rings take on a new form. The minute wheel appears this time within an aperture and the seconds wheel is adorned with a betting stud centre and an azure ring.

After 3 consecutive nominations at the GPHG in the “Petite Aiguille” category for its Secret watches and its new Nuit Fantastique collection, it is at the Only Watch sale that Trilobe is drawing on its artistic inspiration through a unique collaboration with the contemporary sculptor Daniel Buren, by proposing a work of watchmaking art called “La Réciproque”.
